While dad is away the girls will play!!!

Ryan was out of town for work this week... so we tried to keep really busy!!
Monday- Pizza night with Sam's family @ HyVee!! :) {$2.00 all you can eat!!} Hallie is so cute around Sam... cracks me up!!

Tuesday- Girls Day at the mall. We went to Build-a-Bear and the girls made new "friends". Hallie made "Star" the unicorn and Reese made "Pink" the frog (yes, he's green...hehehe ) They played in the play area a bit and we did a little shopping at Gymboree. We got dinner at the food court and got ice cream for dessert :) Fun day... all the things Hallie and Reese love to do. (Hallie was a little picture ham... and Reese wasn't feelin' it today)

Wednesday- We went to story time at Pottery Barn Kids... they were having an Earth Day thing. Each kid got a packet of seeds and tips from Dr. Seuss to save the Earth. After school Sam and his two sisters came to "babysit" (I was here getting house work done) They helped the girls plant their flowers, jumped on the trampoline, played Wii, and had a blast!!

**Surprise... Daddy came home around midnight**

Thursday... I SCRAPBOOKED!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I feel like this has really been put off lately... so I just decided I need to make time for it, I love to do it & you all know how many pictures we take around here!! I will post the finished products in another post. (I got 2 cards and two layouts done!!) I still have a mini book for Scrap Within Reach to do and a layout for The Story Matters... Hoping to do them in the morning. (and yes, I know there are a few of you who are just about to comment why I am in my kitchen instead of my studio... zip it Penny, at least I am scrapping!! hehehe)

A famous Lorax once said...

I planted one tree...
and I told two friends to plant a tree...
and my two friends told their two friends to plant a tree...
and then 7 trees were planted because of me!

Please friends, go plant a tree :)
Happy Earth Day!!

The real haircut...

Today I took Reese in to get her hair "cleaned up". Of course things had to go shorter to get everything blended and such. Here's the newest Pixie cut... {I think she can pull it off... and she likes it.}

I also wanted to post a picture of my sister Jessie... she is obviously a little older than Reese... but I keep looking at Reese today and all I see is a little Jess!! (my parents obviously didn't have a Canon :) hehehe)

An unexpected haircut....

Well.... today Hallie cut off all, let me repeat, Hallie cut of ALL of Reese's curls!!! I was shocked and crying and mad and frustrated and well... at that time I could do nothing by cry!
Here's the haircut (I haven't taken her in to get it "cleaned up" yet):
Now, it is a few hours later... I have let the idea settle a little bit. I think the pixie cut will fit her fine.

Remember when??

This post is for Jodi :)
Everytime Hallie wore this shirt I would think of Ellie (Jodi's little girl) when you guys came to visit for a Farm Bureau thing and wore it! Then everytime Reese wore it we would think of Ellie again. And today...

Piper wore it :) Lots of memories. I love it when one little thing triggers lots of good times!! Can't wait to come visit you guys! Hallie really wants to play with Ellie... so we will have to make our "play date" longer next time.

Girl with a mission...

This week a representative from the Juvenile Diabetes Foundation came to Hallie's preschool to talk about the upcoming walk. They were each given 10 red paper shoes. When she got home she was on a mission to sell them. I agreed (knowing it was only 10) She was all prepared with what she was going to say...

"Hello, would you like to help me fight diabetes?"
{How can they say no???}
"Sure, what do I do?"
"Just write your name on this shoe and give me a dollar."

She sold all ten right away!! We get home she tells me to call the school... she wants more shoes ;) So we look at the info package we had gotten and she decided she wanted to sell 75. (so she can get the level 4 prize... a shoe radio) I got more shoes and she was off!! Seriously, I just walked along... she did all of the talking and explaining. She answered people's questions they asked her:

Q: Why is this important to you? (I was thinking, really?? She's 5)
A: Because I want to give money so they can figure out how to make the sick kids better.

Q: What are you going to do with all of the shoes?
A: We are going to hang them in our school.

Q: What school do you go to?
A: ummmmmm.... hesitates... My mom knows the way.

So after a short walk, a lot of doors, and a fun afternoon... Hallie had raised her $75 goal!! :) Sometimes she amazes me.

Ya know, since I'm not busy doing anything else I think I'll start making dresses :) Here is Miss Reesey's new dress! (before I ironed the tie) Scrappers notice the fabric??? ...it's Heidi Grace!! I got two others. Her fabric is sooo cute {and at JoAnn's} Does your little girl need one???... send me an e-mail for info :)

A Ca-ute haircut & a trip to the bunny!

This week Hallie decided to get her hair cut! She got about 6 inches cut off... it is soooo cute! And now she can even brush it on her own... which is a good thing! After the haircut we made a trip to see the easter bunny! (Yes, Piper slept through it all!)...you can't see her haircut very good... i'll make a post with their Easter outfits in a bit...
